HW Bifipro III

Why it’s needed

The ESI ionisation systems provides safe water by eliminating the harmful pathogenic bacteria that live in it. The system is effective against biofilm found on the inside of system pipework which can harbour a wide range of bacteria and offer protection against other modes of disinfection. Its application for the treatment of water systems ranges from hospitals, hotels, nursing homes, industrial and commercial facilities.

The ESI ionisation systems are the effective, economical solution to bacterial contamination of domestic water systems. The copper and silver ions produced are effective against waterborne pathogenic microorganisms such as Legionella, Pseudomonas and Escherichia coli in mains water, hot and cold water systems.

  • HSE document L8 – Legionnaires Disease, The control of legionella bacteria in water systems: Approved Code of Practice and Guidance.

Copper Silver Ionisation is outlined as a system of control in the following guidance documentation:

  • Section 5.2.1 of the 2009 HPSC guidance of Legionella control
  • Section 2.101 of the 2014 UK HSG Part 2
  • Section 7.16 and 7.30 of HTM 04 01 Part B
