Occupational Monitoring

The number of incidents associated with ill health, discomfort and nuisance in the indoor environment is increasing. The indoor environment is becoming more complex and more enclosed. Sick building syndrome (SBS) is a combination of ailments associated with an individual’s place of work or residence.

Sick building causes are frequently caused by flaws in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Other causes have been attributed to contaminants produced by some types of building materials, volatile organic compounds (VOC), moulds, improper exhaust ventilation, or lack of adequate fresh-air intake/air filtration.

The consequences to a business can include high levels of employee sickness or absenteeism, lower productivity, low job satisfaction and high employee turnover.

Environmental Services Ireland (ESI) can provide a comprehensive Indoor Air Quality report which will assess the installation and operation of relevant plant, document all observations made and outline recommendations to guide the client on making alterations or improvements to ventilation systems where required.

Environmental Services Ireland (ESI) also provide additional services to monitor the indoor environment including Air Sampling, Noise monitoring, Air/dust monitoring, Lighting surveys and Ductwork Cleaning.
